Integration · Google Analytics 4 + Meta Pixel
QR code scans, inside Google Analytics 4.
Every scan of a dynamic code fires a qr_code_scan event to your GA4 property, even when the code points at a site you don't own. Offline scans sit next to the rest of your marketing.

Copy your Measurement ID
In GA4, open Admin → Data streams → your web stream. Copy the ID that starts with G-.
Paste it in QRAnalytica
Open Custom Tracking in your dashboard, paste the G- ID and switch Google Analytics on. Add a Meta Pixel ID here too if you use one.
Scan a code
Every scan of your dynamic codes now fires a qr_code_scan event. Check GA4 → Reports → Realtime to see it arrive.
What lands in GA4
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| qr_code_id | The code's ID in QRAnalytica |
| qr_code_name | The name you gave the code, e.g. 'Spring flyer' |
| scan_location | City and country of the scan |
| device_type | Mobile, tablet or desktop |
| final_url | The destination the scan was sent to |
Register the parameters you need as event-scoped custom dimensions in GA4 to use them in reports.
Use it to compare offline and online channels, build an exploration of scans by code name, or mark qr_code_scan as a key event. Running restaurant menus? Pair it with peak-hour scan analytics. Agents can send sign scans to Meta for real estate retargeting.
GA4 integration FAQ
Can I track QR code scans in Google Analytics 4?
Yes. With QRAnalytica Pro or Business, add your GA4 Measurement ID once and every dynamic code scan is sent to GA4 as a qr_code_scan event, before the visitor reaches your page.
Why not just add UTM parameters to the URL?
UTMs only work if the destination is a site you own with GA4 installed. The QRAnalytica event fires on the redirect itself, so scans that go to Zillow, a PDF, an app store or a social profile are still counted in your GA4.
Which GA4 event and parameters are sent?
The event is qr_code_scan, with qr_code_id, qr_code_name, scan_location, device_type and final_url. Register the ones you want to report on as custom dimensions in GA4 Admin.
Does it work with the Meta Pixel?
Yes. Add your Meta Pixel ID in the same settings. Each scan fires a PageView and a QRCodeScan custom event, so you can build retargeting audiences from people who scanned.
Which plans include GA4 and Meta pixels?
Pro ($39/month), Business ($99/month) and Lifetime Pro. Starter includes QRAnalytica's own scan analytics but not ad pixels.
